Recently I attended seminars by genetic genealogist Blaine Bettinger. During one of his lectures he recommended MedBetterDNA. MedBetterDNA is a Chrome extension that brings all the person notes in AncestryDNA to the match list. It makes notes visible at the top level, so you don’t have to click down to a person to see them.
I have been using MedBetterDNA for the last few weeks, and I have to say it improves the efficiency of going through matches. I have been adding centimorgan match size to the notes so the size of each match is visible on the first page (like it should be, Ancestry). I suggest a notes format something like this:
215 cM – John Krogmann and Augusta Huebner – 2c1r (22 Mar 2018)
As a bonus, the notes are also all visible in the Shared Matches list. No more clicking through to all those pages to look at your notes. I strongly recommend MedBetterDNA to improve your AncestryDNA experience.
