When I attended the Salt Lake Institute of Genealogy (SLIG) in January, one of our case studies referenced a number of articles in Prologue Magazine, published by the National Archives. This is a great resource to learn about American history and records from some of the experts at the National Archives. All articles are online starting with the Summer 1997 issue, and selected articles are online as early as 1973. The magazine’s site also has a Genealogy Notes page where articles particularly relevant to genealogy are grouped by topic including the Census, Civil War, and Immigration and Naturalization. Check it out.
